Welcome to GustavL Life & Love Wedding Photography Tasmania

Welcome to my new website!

Over the past 7 years as a professional photographer, I have been able to work with some amazing people accross the world, both for weddings and corporate portraits. I built up a lovely website with thousands of images of these lovely people, but in March somewhere disaster struck.

Something had gone wrong with my website and try as I might with my service provider, we could just not get it fixed. I had to make a hard call, one I agonised over for weeks, because I am a very pro-active problem solver and it boggled my mind that I couldn’t fix this.

Acceptance is key

Alas, I had to accept, the beloved site that I poured so many hours into was gone, along with it my Google organic ranking and most importantly my blog.

Side note: One silver lining though, I found a website where you can view your old websites, but you can’t use it to restore your old site. Just in case your interested, click here.

The hard work had to start all over, and on top of that, having moved to Tasmania a short while ago, I really needed my website to start and market to potential wedding couples and businesess needing portraits.

Leave it to the pro’s

Not having the time to do my website myself, I decided for the first time to outsource the design to a referred developer. Normally I did it myself. I have to say it was great working with a specialist and not have to figure out how I wanted to do something. I just asked for it to be done, and it happened.Credit where credit is due. Thanks Melissa for staying calm through this process.

All the great weddings I have photographed for myself and my awesome friend Alexander Smith, who taught me so much in photography and who’s brand I was part of for the past 5 years, all the hard work and effort has come to this, to Tasmania.

New beginnings

Now a new chapter in my photography career has started with my new website and in a way a fresh website is also a fresh breath of air. It hits your nose, almost stings but smells so good, full of new aromas, full of promise.

I hope that as my brand grows in the Tasmanian wedding and portrait photography scene, that I will look back at this post and smile, knowing that taking a leap of faith was a leap in the right direction.

Looking back

To begin, I thought I would post a few of my favourite images that I have taken through the years. There are so many for different reasons, but here are just a few highlights.

I just love candid pictures. This one was literally captured on the go, when we moved from one spot to another. The umbrella was for real use, not just for the photo’s, however in true style this lovely bride made it uber elegant. One of my favourites and definitely one of my editor’s favourites as she always reminds me.

Ah the ultimate rain photo. Not for the faint-hearted, but if a couple is adventurous, then I am keen to get a bit wet. I can guarantee you that this awesome couple will cherish this memory forever.

Confetti can create a magical picture, but the happiness on their faces are even more magical to me. I always advise my couples to use petals or something with substance as confetti.

Having fun is the most important part of your wedding. The more fun you have, the cooler the pictures.

The Dance

The dance is one of my ultimate favourite photo’s at a wedding. I always plan that part carefully, however sometimes you just have couples that knows how to create a beautiful image all by themself. I wish I could take credit for this, but it was all them. All I had to do was to make sure the photo was in focus.
